DIARY: Darius appearance is a surprise for Nasty Nigel

Big Brother's media handlers Henry's House have been taken on to

promote the follow-up to hit TV show Popstars.

Aspiring solo artists will slug it out in the provisionally-titled 'Pop

Idols', produced by the infamous 'Nasty' Nigel Lythgoe. Diary

respectfully suggests that to ensure client satisfaction they protect

Lythgoe from the sort of embarrassment he endured when he guested on

another HH-promoted show, The Big Breakfast, on 28 June.

After Lythgoe's interview, surprise guest Darius (the infamous reject

from the show) was wheeled out, to be greeted with hearty handshakes and

pally hugs.

However, when the cameras stopped rolling the two edged uncomfortably

away from each other, shoegazed, and did little to dispel the impression

that they are none too fond of each other.

'It came as a genuine surprise to all of us, Nigel included', our HH

source confided. 'I don't know if his expression was born of terror or

discomfort, though.'
