Monitor has appointed Nick Samuels as interim head of media and external relations. He replaces Veena Hudson, who took a role as special adviser to Nick Clegg. Samuels has worked as interim director of comms at NHS Haringey, NHS Westminster and NHS Blood and Transplant. Monitor will resume its search for a permanent head later this year.

Quantum Public Relations has been called in by Visit Kent to provide PR and media support for its 'Kent Greeters' campaign, focused on residents sharing their local knowledge of Kent's 'hidden gems' with visitors to the county. The agency will handle a targeted national and international PR campaign.

The London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham has launched a campaign to thank residents for their contribution to reducing council tax by recycling, keeping streets clean and using its website for transactional services. Tactics have included creating a YouTube video and handing out chocolates.
