The BPC has chosen Hanover to provide integrated comms advice across both public affairs and public relations.

This is the BPC’s first corporate comms agency appointment as it seeks to raise awareness of the poultry industry’s value as an essential part of UK agriculture and food production.

BPC chairman John Reed said: ‘Hanover stood out in the process as a company that could provide serious insight and substantial expertise to enhance the British poultry meat industry’s reputation.

‘As an industry, we have a very strong story to tell and we look forward to driving this agenda forward.’

Representing producers of chickens, turkeys, ducks and geese, the BPC speaks on all parts of the production chain: breeding, hatching, growing and processing.

Hanover will work to ensure broad awareness among policy makers and commentators of the industry’s valuable contribution to the UK economy, environmental protection, workforce skills and food safety.

Hanover MD Charles Lewington said: ‘The BPC represents a commercially successful and technologically advanced industry that plays a hugely valuable role in feeding the nation.

‘We look forward to helping the BPC embed this message across Westminster and among media audiences. We are looking to help BPC extend its reach and achieve real cut-through with its messages.’
