Alex Aiken has also taken on the role of co-ordinator for the European Association of Communication Directors' evaluation working group. The group's former co-ordinator, Louis de Schorlemer, will hand over the position after four years.

Hackney Council interim assistant chief executive Carl Welham has been handed a new role at the council, to improve its offer to business investors looking to move into or expand their presence in the borough. This will be the main focus of a bespoke investment destination called Hackney House, which will be located in Shoreditch in Hackney from May to September, as reported last month.

Derbyshire County Council has signed up to the 'Be the Best you can Be!' scheme, aimed at inspiring young people to work towards goals across the school curriculum. The programme was launched for Derbyshire's children in care, and care-leavers, at Matlock Town Football Club on 17 February.
