Avation, an aircraft leasing company listed on the London Stock Exchange, has appointed Cubitt Consulting as its corporate and investor comms consultancy.

Cubitt will work to build the firm's profile as a leader in the aviation sector, increasing share liquidity and widening the shareholder base.

FTI Consulting has appointed Simon Dibb as an MD in the firm's Strategic Communications practice in Brussels. Before joining FTI Consulting, he was a partner and director at Porter Novelli. He also held senior positions at Brodeur Worldwide and the Weber Group and has built 25 years of corp comms experience across telecoms, petrochemicals, financial services and technology.

Uralkali, one of the world's largest potash producers and exporters, has appointed RLM Finsbury as its financial PR adviser. The firm covers around a fifth of the global market of potash, which is a mixture of mined salt and minerals, and is traded on three stock exchanges.

Deutsche Bank has named Thorsten Strauss, formerly Bertelsmann's head of corporate comms, as its global head of comms and CSR. He replaces Stefan Baron, who will retire at the end of May. London-based Michael Golden, deputy head of group press, will become deputy global head of comms & CSR.
