Children's Wish job goes to Talk Luxury

Consumer specialist Talk Luxury has been appointed to handle PR for

the charity Children's Wish Foundation International UK.

Talk Luxury, part of the Talk Loud group, won the account following a

four-way pitch.

This is the first time the UK arm of the charity, which also has a base

in the US, has used agency help with PR.

Talk Luxury bills itself as specialising in the upmarket and the young

consumer market, with clients such as champagne house Duval Leroy,

relocation agents Go Native and royal event organisers Fisher

Productions.

According to account director Lysbeth Fox, who heads a three-strong

team, the agency will draw on its contacts with celebrities to help

publicise the charity in the mainstream media. It will also target

businesses to get involved with sponsorship and marketing deals.

Last week Talk Luxury organised for 12 children to meet Dannii Minogue,

who is starring in the West End stage show Notre Dame de Paris. Talk

Loud handles PR for the show.

The charity, which fulfils wishes for children suffering from a

life-threatening or a terminal illness, was formed in America in 1985 by

Linda Dozoretz, after the death of her daughter Susan, of bone

cancer.

Children's Wish UK CEO Marc Granger said: 'We have grown immensely and

the time was right to bring in experts to promote us and deal with media

enquiries, which often involve very emotive stories.'

He added that the charity is looking to set up more bases in Europe,

with the first likely to be in Holland.

'We think Talk Luxury will be able to handle our PR on a European scale

but we also may bring in other agencies for specific countries,' Granger

added.
