Clegg has recruited Monitor’s head of media and stakeholder relations, Veena Hudson. She is the sixth and final special adviser to join the Liberal Democrats, with the aim to oversee work carried out in Conservative-led departments, reported last October.

Hudson will oversee the Department for Communities and Local Government, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and the Department for Transport.
