The agency won the year-long retained consumer and trade brief, worth a six-figure sum, as Nyetimber looks at a broader comms drive to promote its wines.
Ailana Kamelmacher, founder of Story, said the agency would be reporting to Eric Heerema, CEO of Nyetimber, and his business partner Guy Salter, although details of the strategy were not yet available.
She added: ‘2012 is a year that is all about celebrating the best of British. We want to inspire a new generation of discerning drinkers to choose Nyetimber. Adding the brand to our growing drinks division is a real coup and a fantastic start to the year.’
Nyetimber was established in 1988 with the aim of making sparkling wine to rival Champagne, with the estate now comprising 438 acres under vine.
Heerema said: ‘We have ambitious plans for the brand and are delighted to have Story on board. At Nyetimber we set ourselves the highest standards so we need marketing partners who share that. Story’s mix of analysis, contacts and creativity impressed us from the outset.’
Story currently retains in its portfolio Diageo malt whisky, Innocent Drinks and Riverford organic vegetables among others.
