Borkowski lands Lindemans brief

Australia's largest wine producer Southcorp Wines has picked

Borkowski PR for a three month PR blitz on one of its top wine labels,

Lindemans.

The agency won a three-way pitch for the brief, beating Freud

Communications and Nelson Bostock Communications.

Account director Dee McCourt leads a team of two on the account,

reporting to Lindemans marketing manager Sally Warmington, who was

promoted from brand manager at the beginning of the month.

Southcorp has tasked Borkowski with developing and implementing a PR

campaign to work alongside advertising and marketing for Lindemans.

The appointment forms part of a pounds 2m marketing budget to promote

the brand using PR, TV ads, competitions and promotions.

'The main brief is to bring to the attention of both consumers and those

in the trade the Lindemans Hidden Treasure campaign, which is a neck

collar bottle promotion,' said McCourt.

'We'll also be helping rejuvenate the wine and cheese party and we'll be

holding some really funky wine and cheese media parties,' she added.

Borkowski new business manager Larry Franks added: 'We are very much

known for our arts and theatre work, so it's great to get our feet

firmly into the consumer branding sector.'

Borkowski will work with Southcorp's retained ad agency Universal

McCann.

Southcorp became Australia's top wine producer - and one of the world's

largest producers - following its merger with Rosemount Estate last

month.

The newly-created company owns 7,500 hectares of vineyards and will

produce ten million cases of premium wines a year.
