Headquartered in Helsinki, Pohjoisranta has been Burson-Marsteller’s affiliate partner in Finland since 2006 and will now become a full member of the network as Pohjoisranta Burson-Marsteller.
Burson-Marsteller global CEO Mark Penn said: ‘Our decision to take a majority stake offers us significant opportunities to strengthen our business both in EMEA and globally.’

Pohjoisranta was founded in 1995 and specialises in reputation management and communication services. Its clients include Stora Enso, Metso, HP and SAP.
Jouni Heinonen, chairman and co-founder of Pohjoisranta, said: ‘Our co-operation with Burson-Marsteller has been intense and fruitful since we joined as an exclusive affiliate in 2006. Our clients have become more international than ever and sharing global knowledge on best practices is extremely important for us.’

Heinonen will join the B-M leadership team in addition to his role as head of the agency’s EMEA change practice.
