O'Sullivan moves to parliamentary affairs post at BT

BT has hired Tim O'Sullivan for its newly-created position of UK

parliamentary affairs head.

O'Sullivan joins from the Department for Education and Employment

(DfEE), where he was head of its policy innovation unit.

This latest hire follows Giles Deards' appointment to the newly-created

role of head of UK public affairs earlier this month. O'Sullivan reports

to Deards as part of BT's ten-strong London-based PA division, which is

led by group PA director Sandy Walkington.

Part of O'Sullivan's remit will be to oversee BT's input to the

Government's Communications White Paper and daily relations with

Westminster.

Deards said a team priority would be to further communicate with PA

audiences and help counter the negative press BT has received in recent

months.
