1. The Museum of London has launched an exhibition on author Charles Dickens to celebrate the 200th anniversary of his birth.

Dickens was famous for writing about London life; long hours and poor conditions at work, poor urchins roaming the streets stealing and corporate Scrooges. Nothing like it is today, then.

2. Chameleon PR really does hunt high and low for the very best PR professionals, as two of its staff, Matt Gass (6ft 6in) and Lucy Houghton (5ft 1in), demonstrate. They may have very different views of life, but Gass' tall tales and Houghton's short stories keep the coverage rolling in. Groan.

3. Premier PR handled the high-profile premiere of the new Steven Spielberg film War Horse this week. The star of the film, a horse called Joey, put in an appearance on the red carpet. Let's hope Joey's very own pooper-scooper, who followed him down the red carpet, was not one of Premier's staff. It certainly would have been a fresh start to the year.
