The Midlands Co-op is inviting agencies to pitch for its PR brief. The
decision to outsource communications follows the departure of
in-house PR manager Ann Juby, who has left after ten years to start a

consumer accounts,' said corporate affairs manager Peter Vaughan.
The Co-op still retains an in-house PR operation in Juby's assistant,
PRO Sarah Duncan.
Midlands Co-op has more than 350 food outlets and employs 7,500. It has
an annual turnover of pounds 750m. 'We have a significant core retailing
of food and non-food products and dairy trading interests, and we will
be seeking specialist agencies that are aware and able to maintain our
ethical standards of trading to pitch for the brief,' said Vaughan.
