MacLaurin set to handle Discovery Channel PR brief

MacLaurin has been appointed on six-figure fees by The Discovery Channel

for a major brand awareness and programme content campaign.

The agency was involved in a three-way pitch with Herald Communications

and Brave PR, and will begin the year-long initiative to target consumer

audiences and develop the UK corporate profile with immediate


MacLaurin board director Ian Monk will head a team of five, and report

to Discovery Networks Europe (DNE) director of press and public

relations, Liz Healy, and Discovery Channel in-house PRO Kirsty


'Discovery's UK audiences are growing and our campaign will focus on

that,' said Monk.

The brief includes PR for numerous new productions and a wide-ranging

schedule of 'quality' factual programmes to be unveiled at a summer

launch - and billed as the channel's 'most ambitious yet'.
