The DriveGain app claims to save drivers on average, £170 a year - equivalent to the annual cost of car tax for a small car. It  recommends what gear the driver should be in and how to save fuel through different driving techniques.

Dynamo will handle publicity and promotions for DriveGain in the UK, Europe and North America, and position the app as a money-saving resource as consumers tightening their belts in 2012. The app is being developed for both consumers and commercial licensing.

The Danish Government is using the app in a program designed to make drivers safer and more economical.
