DIARY: Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide from MCC webcam

Rightly or wrongly, the popular perception is that PR employees

work less arduous hours than your average junior doctor. Such rumours

may even lead to clients fearing that their 'six figure sums' are going

to waste.

But in the spirit of corporate transparency and interactive viewing, one

agency has decided to expose its staff to the eagle eyes of the internet

world a la Big Brother.

Driven by fears that it, like others, will 'get bashed' for leaving

voicemail to screen callers, MCC International director Ian Peel is

planning to install a webcam in the firm's open-plan office.

Yet the intrusion into the lives of the staff doesn't end there -

ambitious plans are afoot to enable surfers to control the camera

remotely, thereby being able to target areas of the room, and zoom in on

their prey.

The devoted staff have reacted 'bravely' according to Peel, and he

maintains that 'there are no plans to put cardboard cut-outs in their

cannot be on their best behaviour all the time. We await the launch with

great anticipation.
