Diary is proud to announce that it is unleashing a fresh challenge
upon our legion of loyal readers.
Having failed in our attempts to spark an electrical goods bribery war,
this column has instead opted to reward acts of shameless celebrity
name-dropping with the sweet nectar of publicity.
Before we get into the juicy gossip of this week's entry, we ought to
clarify the rules: Diary does not care for the trivial exploits of Jamie
Oliver, Vanessa Feltz and their second division ilk.
We want big names acting as disgracefully or entertainingly as
First up: Weber Shandwick Worldwide and its launch bash for some mobile
phone. The cunning ploy of organising said shindig in conjunction with
Meg 'D-List' Matthews' 2active party agency ensured the likes of Jude
Law, Claudia Schiffer, Kate Moss plus Jade and Mick Jagger stumbled from
their counting houses for the event.
Thus it came to pass that account director Jeremy Clarke and account
manager Ross Cathcart put the moves on Schiffer on the dance floor,
while another account manager - Nicki Lyons - literally beat off the
competition to present pretty-boy Law with his party bag.
The standard has been set folks. Remember: the more you touch them the
more we want to hear about it.
