The companies aim to combine their resources to grow their international business, both in Europe and other key automotive markets.
Orb Chairman Martin Hayes said: ‘This is a perfect marriage, with Automotive and Torque having complementary skills and clients. This deal provides us with an excellent springboard to develop wider client services.’
Torque founders Peter Haynes and Phil Hale will join Automotive’s Martin Hayes, Marco Ferrari, Belle Moss and Mus Kortach as executive directors on the board of Orb Communications Group.
Automotive and Torque will continue to operate independently and, owing to there being no conflicts, both will keep all clients. There have been no redundancies and all 18 staff members from the agencies combined will stay in their roles.
Clients include Land Rover, Jaguar, Vauxhall and Continental Tyres.
The projected combined turnover of both agencies is £1.8m in 2012.
