INTERNATIONAL: BA campaign to target Concorde flyers hits the US

NEW YORK: British Airways is planning a campaign to target Concorde

flyers in the US in anticipation of plans to resume the aircraft's

service later this year.

As no Concorde aircraft are located in the US, BA is sending its chief

Concorde pilot and senior members of the engineering team to brief key

customers about ongoing pounds 27.5m safety modifications.

Concorde was grounded following the crash of an Air France Concorde in

July 2000, which killed 113 people.

This will be the second scheduled BA event reaching out to Concorde's

most frequent fliers. BA has already held a luncheon and briefing for 25

frequent fliers in London.

'They were able to see how these modifications are being carried out,

and to pick out and handle the equipment that is being brought on

board,' said BA communications department special projects head Michael

BA has managed the Concorde crisis in-house, working closely with Air

France and joint suppliers EADS and BAE.
