The City shop has won the retained financial PR account of TT Electronics, a UK firm that supplies components to the automotive, defence and aerospace sectors.
The firm is listed on the main market of the London Stock Exchange, with clients including BMW, Boeing and Airbus. The firm aims to grow into the FTSE 250 index and has brought Hudson Sandler on board to manage comms.
The agency picked up the business after a four-way competitive pitch. TT Electronics previously used City agency Biddicks. The Hudson Sandler team, led by chief executive Andrew Hayes, will report directly to Geraint Anderson, TT's chief executive.
The account, described by one source as an 'important win' for the agency, comes as news emerges that it has cut its ties with deputy chairman Alistair Mackinnon-Musson.
Mackinnon-Musson joined more than a decade ago, having worked at FD (now FTI Consulting) and Square Mile through the 1990s.
He led key Hudson Sandler accounts with Next, a client he had a two-decade relationship with, and Jacques Vert, and became CEO of Hudson Sandler in 2002 before taking the deputy chairman post.
Hudson Sandler declined to comment other than to confirm Mackinnon-Musson is no longer working at the agency, despite his name appearing on the bottom of recent Next and Jacques Vert market announcements.
Mackinnon-Musson could not be reached for comment.
One source said Mackinnon-Musson operated his own comms business that was sub-contracted by Hudson Sandler throughout his time at the agency. The agency is understood to have ended this arrangement. It is thought Mackinnon-Musson is considering his legal options.
