MEDIA: Your Life set to launch next week

Your Life, the IPC Connect weekly magazine that has emerged from

the ashes of Woman's Realm, will launch on 24 April.



Aimed at so-called 'primetime' women aged between 35 and 60, it is the

brainchild of former Woman's Realm editor Mary Frances. Your Life aims

to sell between 200,000 and 250,000 copies and promises to be less

'mumsy' than Woman's Realm, serving what IPC says is a new market. 'The

reader wants something that treats her as a human being,' Frances

said.



The theory is that the target readership of 'modern older women' has

money and aspirations with little interest in budget tips. Your Life

will concentrate on mid to high-end fashion, holidays, gardens and

homes.



The magazine will contain sections such as Indulgence, covering travel

and luxury goods; Life Support (health); and an eight-page Body & Soul

section (alternative remedies). Features will appear under the heading

Life Matters. There will also be a 12-page news-based section at the

front, called This Week.



Your Life is the latest of several innovative women's magazine launches

this year, joining other would-be trend-buckers such as Conde Nast's

handbag-sized Glamour and H Bauer's fortnightly Real.



Although the current issue of Woman's Realm is the last, the brand will

not disappear altogether. It will appear on the masthead of stablemate

Woman's Weekly from next week.



Frances became Woman's Realm editor in 1998. She has also worked on

Woman's Own, Woman and Best.
