The agency asked more than 10,000 people across the UK, Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Spain about how they use social media. It identified four groups - Cheerleaders (20- to 40-year-old social media users who influence others); Loyalists (20- to 45-year-olds most likely to build long-term relationships with brands); Opportunists (45- to 60-year-olds who only follow brands to receive discounts) and Outsiders (60-year-olds+ who only use social media for personal use).
