The launch makes Manchester the first office within the agency’s European network to expand the ‘brand experience’ business. The team has been built drawing people from experiential, web and mobile, technology, content and programming backgrounds.
It will be led by senior account manager Leigh Brimicombe, who was previously at The Red Consultancy in London, and overseen by Weber Shandwick North MD Jo Leah and Weber Shandwick UK head of creation Dan Atkins.
Leah said: ‘We have always had good creative ideas based on analysis and insight, but had to pass the magic of bringing them to life through film, mobile, experiential or design outside of our business. We no longer have to do that.’
Weber Shandwick UK & EMEA CEO Colin Byrne said: ‘All agencies are talking about the innovation agenda, but unlike them we are doing something about it.’
Supporting Brimicombe in delivering the offering is film and production expert Jemma Nathanson, who has worked on TV shows including Heartbeat, Emmerdale and This Morning, and Gabriella Day, who is a scriptwriter, presenter and producer.
The Creation North team also consists of partners drawn into the agency via joint ventures.
