The Asset Based Finance Association has appointed Matthew Davies as its first head of government affairs. Davies joins the body, whose 45 members provide liquidity to UK businesses, from law firm Bircham Dyson Bell's government and infrastructure practice.
Camberton has been retained by finance website RateSetter.com to advise on public affairs and corporate comms. Launched in October 2010, RateSetter is an online marketplace where consumer borrowers are matched up with savers looking for a better deal. Camberton will raise awareness of the brand and advise on lobbying around regulatory issues.
PubAffairs, the network for public affairs, government relations, policy and comms people, has launched a sub-group for freelance, interim and micro-business professionals. The first informal gathering of the PubAffairs freelance network in Westminster will take place in January.
