Following a four-way pitch, The PR Office has been appointed by the CRI, which is one of the country’s largest national charities specialising in drug and alcohol dependency.
The charity has previously worked with Grayling on a project basis.
The CRI has grown substantially over the past ten years, increasing its turnover from £2.1m in 2001 to £57.5m in 2011, yet it has a comparatively low profile. The charity employs 2,000 staff, has around 600 volunteers and runs around 200 projects across England and Wales.
Kevin Perlmutter, who was appointed as CRI’s first director of comms in February this year, said: ‘CRI has historically concentrated on doing what it does best rather than just talking about it. We are now a significant presence in the sector.’
The PR Office has been asked to raise awareness of CRI, which provides specialist treatment, advice and support services to people affected by drugs and alcohol, as well as crime, homelessness, domestic abuse and antisocial behaviour.
