DIARY: Leeds firm Northern Skies goes on the game in naked publicity attempt

Company brochures can be a dreary read. What they need is a bit of

jazzing up, some decent pics ... perhaps a (fake) prostitute.

This was the thinking that prompted Leeds PR firm Northern Skies to put

one of its main PR consultants 'on the game' for a night.

Account director Sarah Amies donned a black dress and leopard skin coat

for the shoot, which took place in Leeds city centre.

The resulting snaps lend a seedy air to Northern Skies' latest

credentials book, which includes the line: 'I've had so many clients and

I've got my regulars. I know what they want. Let me satisfy your every

need. Use me.'

Such tawdriness is hardly fit for serious company documents, Diary

huffed down the phone, only to be told that 'every agency can do heavy

business consulting but we wanted to let the world know we can also be

mad as you like.'

The snaps were the brainchild of creative Dave Pannell. Any suggestion

that Pannell simply wanted to see Amies dressed as a prostitute are, of

course, untrue.

Indeed, Pannell himself did not escape shame - he was snapped naked bar

a sandwich board for the same brochure.

Anyone willing to confess to a more brazen attempt at publicity may, of

course, bare their soul to Diary.
