emap elan, the publisher of bi-monthly FHM Bionic, has denied that
its plan to make the FHM spin-off monthly is an attempt to go
head-to-head with Rodale's 235,800-circulation Men's Health. Instead,
emap believes there is room for growth in the 'active lifestyle' sector.
FHM Bionic is aimed at 25 to 34-year-old men and looks at health and
fitness. emap wants to take it monthly by the end of 2001 with editor
William Drew putting a team in place.
