INTERNATIONAL: Citibank Greece adds retail brief at Publicom H&K

ATHENS: Citibank Greece - a division of the world's largest banking

and financial services company - has extended its brief at Publicom/Hill

& Knowlton to include the bank's retail arm.

The agency has worked with Citibank's Greek private banking arm for five

years.

It will now manage media relations and a sponsorship exploitation

package for retail functions as well.

The account is to be headed by Publicom/H&K MD Robert Hipkins, reporting

to the marketing director of Citibank Retail Banking in Greece,

Gabriella Csanak.

Hipkins said: 'Greece's retail banking is undergoing enormous change as

the financial services market becomes more sophisticated. Our work is

aimed at establishing Citibank's authority as a source of comment on

banking issues.'

Citibank's retail arm in Greece has grown to 43 branches since it

launched in 1964. It plans to expand to 80 branches by 2003.
