Games Workshop selects Herald for consumer debut

Herald Communications has been appointed by role-playing

entertainment company Games Workshop on a trade and consumer brief for

products tied into the forthcoming Lord of the Rings film trilogy.



The brief will be led by Herald account director Caroline Cooke, who

will report to Sally Butler at Games Workshop.



The appointment, which will last for an initial one-year period, follows

a five-way pitch, which was reduced to a shortlist of two.



The campaign will target a core audience of 12 to 35-year-old males, and

will seek to raise awareness of both the brand itself and the hobby of

table-top gaming.



This is the first consumer PR appointment by Games Workshop, which

retains Rawlings Financial PR to cover City communications.
