DIARY: Lexis PR design head Hooker drags out his best practice presentation

Many a brave soul has suffered in the line of duty. And so it

proved for Lexis PR head of design Mike Hooker when the agency decamped

to the London School of Economics for a 'best practice' day.

The session aimed to instill the 70-strong team with the sort of values

that would have customers clamouring to stay with the agency.

Account director Scott Cain decided to forsake the standard Powerpoint

option for a client relations presentation. Something had to give when

Hooker and Cain endeavoured to get their message across by means of

their thespian talents.

Hooker found himself decked out in drag, although there was a hint of

modesty in his voice as he boasted, 'I'm an ugly bastard and I'm pretty

fat, so I think I made the most implausible woman you've ever seen'.

The presentation saw the duo compare client reviews to a couple's

relationship, as part of an event that was the culmination of three

months work analysing client feedback.

As for thoughts of a reprise, Hooker confessed, 'I felt OK the first two

or three times we did it, and enjoyed being the centre of attention.

To be honest, though, I felt quite uncomfortable in drag'.

Can't imagine his audience enjoyed the sight either.
