The company reported revenues were up seven per cent, to $7.96bn (£4.96bn), in the quarter ending 31 September compared with the previous year.
News Corporation's financial performance was hit by a number of one-off charges, including a $91m charge primarily relating to its UK newspaper business and a fee related to News Corporation's withdrawal of its bid for BSkyB.
But the performance of other parts of Rupert Murdoch's firm helped its financial performance. Revenue growth was driven primarily by its TV, cable and satellite operations, which outperformed revenue growth at its publishing operations.
