The new brand, Ember Communications, will operate as an independent sister agency to Fire PR and sit under the Campbell Consultancies Group.
Ember’s first brief for mobile phone accessory company Santok will see the agency build trade awareness and drive international demand for consumer products sold under the STK brand.
This is the first time the company has called in an agency, having previously handled PR in-house.
The six-figure global brief will see Ember take on Santok’s consumer PR, trade profiling, digital media and events.
Under the new agency structure, Fire PR founder and CEO Stu Campbell will become group CEO. A dedicated agency head for Ember has not yet been appointed.
Campbell said: ‘We’re launching Ember because I don’t want Fire PR to become too pigeonholed as a tech specialist.
‘Having a group of boutique agencies creates opportunities for the team internally and the structure will allow us to handle a wider range of clients as we expand.’
Campbell aims to build Ember into a 15-strong agency by 2014.
Fire PR’s senior campaign manager Amanda Wadlow has become client director, leading existing Fire PR accounts and driving growth.
