INTERNATIONAL: Dow Jones hires Goldstein for its top comms post

NEW YORK: Dow Jones, publisher of The Wall Street Journal, has

hired Steve Goldstein as vice-president of corporate communications, its

top PR post.



Richard Tofel, Goldstein's predecessor, will become assistant to the

publisher.



Other Dow Jones titles include SmartMoney and Barron's, and the company

also provides news content to CNBC.



Previously senior vice-president at the Insurance Information Institute,

Goldstein admitted his first task will be to learn about the publishing

business.'I want to see things like how the newspaper is printed, visit

different bureaus and meet as many employees as I can,' he said.



He added that he plans to make the communications office more accessible

and responsive to employee information needs.



Goldstein will also focus on building brand awareness internationally.

Dow Jones has PR teams based in New York, London and Hong Kong.
