Haywood leaves Kestrel to launch issues-led firm

Former IPR president Roger Haywood has quit his role as president

of Kestrel WorldCom to launch a dedicated issues management firm.

Haywood left Kestrel last week after more than nine years at the

agency.

His tenure there dates back to the merger of Roger Haywood Associates

with the then Kestrel Communications. It is part of the WorldCom network

of PR firms.

Kestrel MD John Dresser will assume Haywood's managerial

responsibilities at the 14-strong agency.

Clients include the Moat House and Thistle hotel groups and the Biffa

Waste Services group.

Haywood claimed to have pounds 500,000 of secured fee income for the

first year.

He is on the hunt for two more staff members to join the three-strong

team already in place.

Clients to join his agency, Issues Analysis, include computer giant

Compaq - he handles corporate relations for the CEO - and European

entrepreneurs association GrowthPlus.

'We will be seeking to analyse issues before they impact on

organisations and gearing up to cope with emerging challenges in

communications,' he said.

'Issues management is a crucial area for good corporate governance,'

Haywood added.
