BDO Stoy Hayward hands SME remit to Band & Brown

Chartered accountancy firm BDO Stoy Hayward has appointed Band &

Brown Communications to raise its profile among small to medium-sized

enterprises (SMEs).

The agency, whose chairman is Nick Band, was awarded the remit following

a four-way pitch, beating Euro PR, Lansons Communications and Kinross &

Render.

The year-long account, to assist the two member in-house team set up in

1997, carries a six-figure annual budget.

Incumbent of four years Square Mile BSMG Worldwide, which was bought by

BSMG last year, declined to re-pitch.

B&B associate director Gabby Wilson leads an account team of four and

reports to Neville Page, national marketing director.

'Our audience is growing SMEs that want to take the next step and

expand,' said Wilson.

'To do that we will be promoting specialist services that BDO offers

such as e-business, tax consultancy and corporate finance.'

Sarah Jurado, BDO PR executive, said: 'Band & Brown will be taking the

work done by Square Mile further, reaching growing businesses as well as

raising our profile generally.'

In the UK, BDO Stoy Hayward has more than 35 offices. Latest figures

show fee income in the UK reached pounds 173m for the year ending March

2000.
