A Beginner's Guide to Media Licensing in the Charity Sector is a free online publication offering information on payment for media coverage under copyright laws.
CharityComms director Vicky Browning said: 'The current licensing system is confusing and frustrating. It is not always clear how much you should pay, as some are able to negotiate fees and others are charged expensive fixed rates.
'We are looking to work with the Newspaper Licensing Agency and Copyright Licensing Agency in an ongoing campaign to reduce these costs for those working on behalf of charities.'
CharityComms will issue the results of a media licensing survey in a few weeks' time, detailing PROs' experiences of the current system and issues that need to be addressed.
