Metro launches tablet edition for iPad

Metro, the Daily Mail & General Trust-owned free morning newspaper, has launched a tablet edition - the first inter-active version of the paper designed for the iPad.

The Metro app can be downloaded for free from Apple's app store. Users can use Apple's Newsstand feature to download each edition of the paper automatically, or manually download the newspaper from 4am, Mondays to Fridays.

The iPad edition will have all the national and world news, sport and features from the print newspaper, as well as regular slots including the gossip section Guilty Pleasures and celebrity quiz 60 Second Interview.

Metro's app offering will include video and photo galleries, as well as new features such as Window on the World, a selection of full-screen images and photographs from news stories.
