Public Affairs: The Week in Lobbying

The British Poultry Council is set to hire a retained agency to advise on public affairs in the UK.

The trade body has not used external public affairs support in recent years and a pitch process is already under way. The British Poultry Council represents producers of meat from chickens, turkeys, ducks and geese.

Kingfisher, the international retail group, has hired a senior member of the Government's 'nudge unit' to head its European public affairs. Rosie Donachie is a senior adviser in the Number 10 unit formally known as the Behavioural Insights Team. She joins next month as European affairs manager, reporting to head of group government affairs Henry Goodwin.

Citigate Dewe Rogerson's public policy MD, Simon Nayyar, has left the agency. He has not yet announced a new role. His responsibilities are being covered by director Mick Halloran.

MHP Communications has published an extensive guide to the newly established Local Enterprise Zones (LEPs). The agency's public affairs team is the first to research the priorities, board members and progress of all 36 LEPs. The 88-page guide will be distributed to clients in the infrastructure, transport, energy and construction industries.
