PUBLIC SECTOR: Ali takes on Skills Commission role at LDA

The London Development Agency (LDA) has appointed consultant Alan

Ali to assist LDA communications chief Charles Wright. Ali, a former

Hounslow Council PR head, will handle promotion for the agency's Skills

Commission, which funds education and training schemes. His remit also

includes promotion of the pounds 1.3m 'clothing village' campaign to

attract fashion and clothing firms to London. The agency is a functional

body of the Greater London Authority and is responsible for boosting the

local economy and developing skills. Wright joined the agency earlier

this year.
