Jamie Lyons was until recently deputy political editor of the News of the World.
He officially joins Tetra Strategy next week, taking the title of director and head of media. Before joining the News of the World, Lyons was a political correspondent for Press Association.
Tetra Strategy was set up in 2007 by James O'Keefe, a former Labour Party staffer and Bell Pottinger director, and Lee Petar, one of the founding directors of BICOM (Britain Israel Communications Centre).
The last ever issue of the News of The World was published on Sunday 10 July 2011. Lyons’ colleagues on the paper included political editor Ian Kirby and chief political editor David Wooding.
Tetra’s latest hire is not to be confused with James Lyons, who remains deputy political editor of the Daily Mirror.
