One2One has appointed Golin/Harris London as its retained corporate
PR agency, on a six-figure account for the initial year.
The account with the operator, which is a subsidiary of Deutsche
Telekom, was won after a four-way competitive pitch, involving incumbent
agency Luther Pendragon.
The account will be led by G/H London director Jessica Bondy, who will
report to One2One's corporate PR manager Kevin Perlmutter.
The appointment follows a number of changes to the in-house set-up at
One2One over the last nine months, and what Perlmutter described as 'the
growing, changing nature of our business'.
He added: 'We thought it was about the right time to take stock and make
sure we had the right external resources to complement our in-house
According to Bondy, G/H will work to raise the profile of the company,
which currently enjoys a UK market share of 20 per cent. Perlmutter also
indicated that the agency would be involved in the launch of '3G' third
generation mobile services next year.
One2One launched its mobile communication services in Northern Ireland
at the start of April, a month after concluding a deal with mobile
internet platform uboot, which offers SMS and e-mail services aimed at
the 17- to 22-year-old market.
One2One also retains Larkspur Communications on a consumer brief.
The account is the third major win for Golin/Harris in the last month,
following recent successes with pitches for corporate work with Samsung
(PRWeek, 9 March) and British Airways World Cargo (PRWeek, 23 March).
