DIARY: Apposite puts corporate entertainment on track

It's Monday morning, you have to organise a product launch bash by

lunch-time, and then persuade a gaggle of bored hacks that yes, they

should attend the launch of a range of acne creams. But don't worry -

you're going to do it differently... you'll make this the most exciting

launch ever - one the press will never forget. You'll... ah, sod it,

let's just do free booze in a warehouse again.

But now such quandries may be a thing of the past, as you and your

corporate chums can hire a four-carriage Victorian and Edwardian train

to accommodate 50 guests of your choosing. PR-orientated venue hire

service Apposite is offering the chance to pay around pounds 300 per

head for the privilege.

The vehicle, which Apposite founder Janine du Plessis describes as

'luxurious', is owned by a mysterious fellow who uses it for holidays

and to entertain friends.

One can only assume the new-found availability of his train means he has

discovered the pleasure of travelling standard class with Britain's

mainline train operators.
