What is it good for?
The Inamo experience can be compared to eating off a giant iPad. Overhead digital devices project images of the contemporary Asian cuisine on to your plate. Once you've made your choice, a touch-screen menu display on your table allows you to order.
Be careful not to let the 'wow factor' chat about the technology get in the way of talking about the succulent food. I opted for spicy aubergine, Thai beef salad and the black cod and all were tasty and beautifully presented.
Who's the boss?
The first Inamo restaurant and bar in Soho was founded by Danny Potter and Noel Hunwick. In winter 2010 they opened their second location in St James.
Possibly the lack of waiter interaction and banter is one drawback, but if you need a human, you can summon one by tapping the icon on the tabletop display.
What's the damage?
Small dishes range from £3 to £7 and large dishes from £12 to £17. Set menus for lunch and dinner are available for about £10.
