As revealed on prweek.com/uk on Tuesday, the industry body led by Francis Ingham has launched individual membership, putting it in direct competition with the CIPR.
Lee Nugent, MD of Nelson Bostock Group, argued the move would not benefit the industry. 'If we want to 'professionalise', there should be one body that represents individuals,' he said.
Fishburn Hedges MD Fiona Thorne said both faced the challenge to be 'relevant' as the need to be members was 'not in the DNA of enough practitioners'.
