to see how brands appear on the net

An internet tool that launches next month aims to enable brands to

assess their online visibility is a joint venture between London-based online

marketing firm Sitelynx, and Californian tech solutions provider NQL

The service is intended to launch on 1 June, attempting to synchronise

with a 7 June general election. The system operates by searching 20

internet search engines to provide details on 1,300 leading UK

companies. The information is then collated by an automatic database,

generating a series of reports on brand prominence.

Sitelynx MD Graham Hansell claims that a third of internet searches

conducted in Britain are for brands, positioning as a

means of ensuring that a company is adequately represented compared to

its competitors.

'In the current market of spending money wisely, fundamentals like this

are vital,' he said.
