Band & Brown set for consumer job for biscuit brands

Band & Brown has been appointed as sole consumer agency to

recently-merged food manufacturers Burton's and Horizon Biscuits.

The account - won without competitive pitch on the back of the agency's

previous work with the Jammie Dodgers product - will be led by group

head Sarah Mackenzie, reporting to Burton's head of consumer marketing

Rob McNeilly.

The deal will see Band & Brown work with brands including Wagon Wheels,

Cadbury's Fingers and Maryland Cookies. Burton's already retains

Harrison Cowley on a trade brief.

The recent guerrilla campaign for Jammie Dodgers and its kids-orientated

Jam Wrestling ad campaign has resulted in a flurry of media attention

after unsolicited TV appearances on BBC News and CD:UK.

Band & Brown will be involved in a fresh campaign for the Wagon Wheels

brand, currently in development in conjunction with ad agency Saatchi &


According to Mackenzie, the agency will be adopting 'very different'

strategies for the promotion of the assorted brands.

Details of the duration of the contract were still being ironed out as

PRWeek went to press, but the account is likely to operate on a retainer
