Public Affairs: Ladbrokes hires support

Ladbrokes has called in two public affairs agencies as it steps up lobbying across the UK and Europe.

The betting and gaming company has appointed Heathcroft Communications to advise on public affairs issues in the UK. The agency, set up in 2009 by Craig Leviton, has been handed a retained contract as Ladbrokes looks to head off plans to tax offshore gambling and to impose greater regulation on the industry.

Camberton Strategic Communications has also been appointed to lead 'a stakeholder engagement project across Europe promoting Ladbrokes and the betting industry's work on sports integrity'. Ladbrokes previously used Bell Pottinger Public Affairs on a project basis.
