Big Brother looks to Henry's House for TV promotion

Henry's House has acquired the main programme PR brief for this

summer's Big Brother TV series.

The account, to be led jointly by founder Julian Henry and director

Charlotte Hickson, sees the agency undertake promotion and media

handling duties for the show itself, the 'storyline', the house, and the

contestants for the duration of the second series.

The agency won the account on the strength of its previous work for

Channel 4 shows The Priory and The Big Breakfast.

Henry's House is to set up a combined office and flat 'within three

minutes' of the show's studios in Bromley-by-Bow in east London to

provide round-the-clock press office support.

This will include a 24-hour media hotline and a dedicated website for

the press.

Henry and Hickson will alternate leadership of the five-strong team on a

shift basis. They report to Yvonne Taylor, programme publicity manager

at Channel 4.

The agency, which has recruited two members of staff to work on the

account, will provide support for the next five months, in a similar

role to that occupied by Avalon PR for the previous series.

The appointment follows the awarding of a licensing, online and

commercial PR account to rivbal agency Cath Taylor Associates (PRWeek,

20 April).

Further appointments to deal with licensing and contestant 'aftercare'

are believed to be imminent.
