Firefly Communications' Glasgow office has been appointed by global
e-business IT services company ICL to raise its profile in Scotland.
Firefly Scotland replaces Edinburgh-based Indigo PR which ceased work
for ICL six months ago following the departure of ICL marketing manager
Tania Hemming. She moved to Indigo to fill a new strategic
communications director role.
Firefly's year-long contract was won without a competitive pitch.
Director Kieran Moore will lead a team of three on the account and will
report to ICL Scotland MD, Scott McGlinchey. ICL is already supported by
Firefly in England.
The Scotland brief covers the development and implementation of a
localised programme to support ICL's work in the Government, education
and financial sectors.
'Firefly's Glasgow office presented a case for appointing a local PR
team. It has a clear understanding of our sector,' said McGlinchey.
ICL is owned by Japanese conglomerate Fujitsu. Its Scottish clients
include ScottishPower and The Royal Bank of Scotland.
