Manton to push PR at CLS Services

CLS Services - the holding company of CLS Bank - is carrying out a

major PR push following the appointment of its first global director of

communications.

Former Instinet European communications director Jeffrey Manton has

joined with an immediate remit to spearhead the firm's PR offering with

a view to strengthening and repositioning the CLS brand.

One of Manton's first tasks is to appoint an external brand consultancy

expert, which he sees as a PR-driven remit.

A shortlist of two PR agencies has been drawn-up and Manton plans to

appoint by April.

'We are in the process of looking for someone to look at what the value

of this brand is and how it can be applied, which I believe is a PR

role,' said Manton, who reports to CLS Bank and Services CEO Joseph de

Feo.

Manton is also recruiting two people to build an in-house support team

in the London headquarters.

He added there were future recruitment possibilities to fill overseas

roles.

CLS's relationship with incumbent UK agency Fishburn-Hedges is not set

for review.

The firm is currently pioneering a worldwide banking infrastructure,

which works in real time, to eliminate the risk in foreign exchange

transactions.

Prior to Manton's role at Instinet, he acted as vice-president of

communications and marketing for The Open Group, before which he was

corporate communications chief for Barclays corporate and institutional

banking division.
